Who we are

Glick Audio and Video is a division of TCW Computer Systems, Inc. Together, the two companies offer technology solutions for home and business customers in Central Pennsylvania.

The Glick division specializes in home and business integration projects where audio, video and computer networking come together in one solution. These solutions vary in scope from simple home theater installations to advanced home automation projects where lighting, thermostats and security can all be controlled with an intuitive TV remote.

Our business customers appreciate our ability to handle their computer networking needs as well as video presentation equipment, audio systems, digital signage, surveillance cameras and phone systems.

How we work

High definition images splash across the room as sound pours out of hidden speakers. The push of one button turns it all on and another button press turns it off. As far as you are concerned, it's magic. You don't understand how it works and you don't need to. The fun staff at Glick Audio and Video is here to meet your budget in the design, installation and servicing of your entertainment system.

Our clients benefit from over forty years of extensive real-world experience and service in the audio video and computer networking industry.

A plan to meet your needs
Each project is a custom solution designed to meet your unique objectives.

A showroom of solutions
Our showroom is a place where you can see concepts in action. From lights that dim when the movie starts to televisions that display entire music collections, our showroom is a live demo of the solutions that we provide.

A community of expertise
We have working relationships with area architects, builders, interior designers, cabinet craftsmen and electricians. If your needs fall beyond our area of expertise, we will pull in the right people to complete the job.

A one year parts and labor warranty on all installations
We test each piece of equipment before we install it and assure that it is working after it is installed. If a product fails under warranty, we'll take care of the return, saving you the hassle of dealing with the manufacturer.

A smile with every interaction
If our store hours are not convenient, we will be happy to schedule a visit to your home or office. For more complex or complicated systems, an on-site consultation is often the best way to find the best solution to meet your needs.

History

Daniel Glick's interest in the process of recording and reproducing sound was sparked the first time he saw a wire recorder in action. In 1959, when Glick Audio was formally incorporated, the Glick family had already been selling Wollensak recording equipment and Magnavox consoles for several years.

During the 60's, the 'console era' was in full swing, and Daniel and his son Vernon expanded their product offerings to include other high quality manufacturers such as Fisher, Scott, Pilot, Ravenswood, Allen and others.

And then stereo was born.

Audiophiles, the hobbyists of their day, started coming to Glick's to purchase component audio pieces for their stereo systems. These hobbyists had only one goal in mind, and that was to achieve the finest possible sound the technology of the day could offer. This concept of 'high fidelity', combined with the superb material craftsmanship of the best companies of the day--McIntosh, Marantz, JBL, Thorens, Bozak, Tandberg, Dual and others--gave Glick Audio its focus.

Vacuum tubes gave way to transistors in the 60s and 70s as stereo sound reproduction made its first tentative steps into multi-channel media--the "quadraphonic' era. 'Quad' appeared to fade away but eventually resurfaced with many technical improvements as the fusion of audio and video began in the late 80's. This brought about the early 'surround sound' and 'home theatre' systems.

As home theater continued to boom through the 90s, Vernon Glick started making plans for retirement. The business was sold to TCW Computers in 2004. With TCW came new vision and new energy, but the name and business ethic of Glick Audio was retained.

Today, Glick Audio and Video is a dynamic company that has integrated a passion for music and video with the ability to network entertainment devices in home and business environments. The result of that integration is a company that can deliver unique audio and video solutions to the customers who dare to ask, "Would it be possible to..."

The answer is always yes.

Industry Leaders

Glick Audio and Video shared the November 2005 cover of CEPro magazine with TCW Computers. The article inside explains how Glick AV networked three theaters in one home. Ted Houser, manager, joined a panel of experts at the Electronic House Expo to discuss the role that the Media Center computer plays in home entertainment.
